Alright, guys and gals! I know we’ve been talking about the upcoming holidays for awhile now, BUT, I also know there are a lot of you out there that are just as big of procrastinators as me! So here’s ONE LAST heads up for the holidays!
A lot has gone on this week at The Lumber Shack! We have emptied the kiln, re loaded it, done some custom orders, sawn some custom cuts and even had a little time to put some dining room tables, benches and coffee tables together! We are going to have to expand our furniture warehouse here pretty soon, because the guys have been working their brains off putting together some awesome pieces for you all!
Take a look at this crazy neat Black Line Spalted Maple dining room table we just finished up! It is loaded with tons of tight fiddleback figure and some huge circle grains. The table is 7′ long and bookmatched together, it’s the perfect set for any living room! And how unique is that? I can’t think of anyone that can say they’ve seen something close to this anywhere! Along with the super figure, this table has amazing spalt and a whole bunch of black line. The legs add a nice rustic flair, and some awesome character. Pretty safe to say this piece is tied along with the next piece as my favorite!
As you check out this next piece of furniture, keep in mind that a lot of debate went in to which side to use as the top! I fought for the marbled side, and was pleased to win. How fantastic is that marbled color, along with the deep chocolate colors that Black Walnut has to offer? The live edge really stands out, and with that burly, curly figure in there as well as fiddleback and circle grain, who could resist this?! The legs are especially cool. They are half-round stump legs which haven’t been planed, and the band saw marks were left for a little texture. I personally LOVE the extra texture, and think it adds some great character to this bench! Hmmm…maybe I should send this blog to only MY friends and family, in hopes that these two pieces will soon find their home in my dining room & living room… 😉
