I don’t know about you, but the team here at The Lumber Shack have been anxiously awaiting the finished pieces from the highly figured Black Walnut crotches we cut into just last week! We are excited to say that they are now cut, sanded, varnished and ready to be oooh’d and aaah’d over!
As you can see in the picture, we got quite a few exhibition, super figured shotgun and rifle gunstocks out of those gorgeous crotches. You can also tell there are many different sizes and shapes to these gunstocks. Some of the rat tail figures were just too amazing to cut into, so we decided we’d let our customers be the judge on where to cut! The best part? With some of these jumbo sized rifle/2 piece shotgun gunstock blanks, it is possible to get even TWO gunstocks out of one blank! How cool is that?!
I just love looking at these beautiful, super figured pieces, and I can’t get over the awesome chocolate and coffee colors we got after varnishing these bad boys! Just take a look at how much the figure and color pop out at you, begging to be turned into your favorite shotgun or rifle! Hunting season is upon us, so what better gift to get the all American hunter, or just to have as an awesome new craft!
